Our business clients are privately-held companies located throughout the Southeast, many of which have global operations and benefit from Smith & Howard’s international expertise and resources. Most often, these businesses are entrepreneurial in nature, and are run by executives with a keen eye for successful business and an appreciation for the value of professional services. Additionally, we are able to serve publicly-held companies with our benefit plan audit services.

Falling slightly outside the description of a "typical" business client is our large base of non-profit clients. Smith & Howard is honored to serve many of the area’s most vital nonprofit organizations.

A significant portion of our practice is comprised of families and individuals, many of whom are owners and executives of our business clients, but some of whom are original (30+ year) individual tax clients of the firm.
